Disclosure: We have received samples from Crayola to share our opinion on their products. The following is a sponsored post.
Our family is coming to you right on time for Christmas with a really funny handprint. We worked with Crayola on this project and their new glitter dots.
We have always avoided glitter when crafting for one simple reason: it gets everywhere and is a tedious tidying up!
With Crayola Glitter Dots, you can create with Glitter in a whole new way without all the clutter!
However, these glitter dots came in the clutch and our cleaning was SUPER easy. In fact, they didn't create a glittering mess at all. The only problem was their round shape and the occasional dot that rolled off the counter.
Working with the dots was really fun, and the role designs and cutouts in the cookie-cutter style made the fun for our child even more.
Let's dive into the handprint craft …
Step 1. Gather your supplies
You can find most of our deliveries for this project here. Glitter points, cut out shapes, a roll, paints, brushes and a nice handicraft paper.
Step 2. Foam this hand with green paint
Get your green color on your hand nice and thick, otherwise the handprint will not be too clear. The important part is the fingers. The rest can be filled in for post-production improvements.
Step 3. Start creating your stars / ornaments / gifts
In this step, we used the glitter dots to make a sparkling gold star. Perfect for the top of the Christmas tree. The designs can be delicate to move, so the kit came with a nice "spatula" for placement without damage.
Step 4. Get creative and have fun with your glitter points
Here is Josh hand-clearing some glitter points. Some gifts for under the tree and ornaments also made.
"Simply squeeze every point to get sparkling results."
Step 5. Smile! You just made a fantastic holiday keepsake
I think our little helper did a great job creating his Christmas tree craft. This would be a wonderful keepsake for a grandparent or other loved one. Who would you make one for?
